Saturday, Twitchy reported on the fake story about Michael Jordan. The site even left some screen shots of tweets from users taken by the hoax.

Later, dbtechno also ran a story that slammed the rumors.

Part of the rumor about Michael Jordan's cardiac arrest is traced to @LibbyJharvey who left this tweet:

"NBA legend Michael Jordan has suffered a Heart Attack at his North Carolina home. He is in critical condition doctors say."

Apparently, the user and other naive Twitter users didn't pause and verify the sources and authenticity of the heart attack rumors involving Jordan.

However, to @LibbyJHarvey's credit, they retracted their story when new information was learned. A short time later, they left this tweet:

"Apparently this story about Michael Jordan is a hoax. Apologies folks x"

While calls to the Charlotte Bobcats executive offices, site managers, the NBA and ESPN were not returned, the heart attack rumors about MJ are likely false.

In fact if Michael Jordan had a heart attack, all major news outlets would be covering the story as "breaking news." However, there is no evidence the Chicago Bulls legend suffered cardiac arrest. Just chalk this one up as another hoax kept alive by Twitter users.
